Medium density softwood (440Kg/M3 at 12% M/C) colour pale to orange-brown. Looks very similar to NZ Sap Rimu and is used as a Rimu substitute as it is more stable and easier to work. It is also lower in price than Rimu. Easily machined and turned.
Uses – Furniture, joinery, mouldings, panelling, weatherboards.
Availability – Not the most prolific of species, but with four sawmills at our disposal, we are able to keep up with customers’ demands.
