Looks very similar to Coloured or Heart Rimu, albeit a little darker at times. It is not graded separately into Colour and Heart as is Rimu, but generally the timber is 80% heart. Density 620Kg/M3. Shrinkage factor is low. Saws easily and a good machine finish can be achieved with care.
Uses – Furniture, joinery, flooring.
Availability – Can sometimes be difficult to source so stock volumes can fluctuate considerably depending on supply and demand. |
